Volunteer & Docent Opportunities

Have you ever wondered how you can become more involved with the Zoo and its animals? Becoming a Zoo Volunteer or Docentis a greatway to help the Zoo and be involved in the community. Whether its animal care, educating the public, landscaping, or office support, there’s a place for you at the Chattanooga Zoo!

Volunteers

Docents

Ready to move to the next level of volunteer work here at the Zoo? Become a docent. A docent is a specially trained Zoo Volunteer who interacts with the public at animal exhibits, gives guided tours, helps with educational classes, volunteers for special events as well as a variety of other activities. Group Volunteering

Have a group that wants to volunteer? If your organization is looking for opportunities to contribute volunteer hours, please consider the Chattanooga Zoo! Internships

Qualifications: All applicants must be maintaining at least a 3.0 GPA at an accredited college or university. Only applicants majoring in the sciences will be considered for animal care internships, however students in any field may apply for administrative positions. All Chattanooga Zoo internships are unpaid. Interns are considered volunteers, and operate under the supervision of the Volunteer Coordinator.
