HELP CREATE NEW EXHIBITS

The Chattanooga Zoo is in a constant state of growth and improvement. As such, new exhibits continue to be brought in or built on-site. The Zoo would like to continue to provide low-cost access to the best educational exhibits possible and this can only be done through the support of private individuals and corporations. Be a part of the Zoo legacy, make a donation to fund an exhibit of your choice today. Customizable packages and naming opportunities exist.

SUPPORT CONSERVANCY EFFORTS

The Chattanooga Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), one of only 200 accredited institutions in North America. The Zoo actively participates in several AZA Species Survival Plans including Snow Leopards, Cotton-Top Tamarins, Jaguars, Fennec Foxes and more. Currently, the Chattanooga Zoo, in partnership with Lee University, is conducting ground-breaking research critical to preserving the native Hellbender population from extinction. In addition, the Chattanooga Zoo is a regional leader in the field of native wildlife rehabilitation and is the only state licensed wildlife rehabilitation facility. In 2010, the Chattanooga Zoo provided care or coordinated rehab efforts for over 900 animals allowing them to heal and for many, return to the wild.

FUND ZOO OUTREACH & EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

With over 21,000 education program recipients in 2010, the Zoo is a strong educational force in our community. In line with the Zoo's mission, to engage and inspire our community to better understand and preserve wildlife, the Zoo strives to be accessible to all citizens through both on-site and off-site educational programs. All education programs are aligned to state science standards and benchmarks, curriculum, and objectives for Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama, along with national science education standards. Students have a hands-on opportunity at the Zoo to build on what they have already learned in the classroom, and are often more engaged in the topic as a result. In addition to education programs, the Zoo also offers one of the lowest priced summer camps in the area. Campers have the opportunity to learn about animal care, experience behind-the-scenes tours, listen to educational lectures and participate in craft and game time.
