This area of the Zoo is home to animals you can find right here in the United States. Themed after Chattanooga’s long-standing association with railroads, Walkin’ the Tracks offers a fun and exciting way to experience North America’s amazing animals.
American Crow
Native to North America (Canada and the United States). Habitat includes woodlands, farms, fields, river groves, shores, towns. They can be found in city parks, and suburbs of large cities as well.
White-tailed Deer
Native to the Americas. Habitat includes fields, meadows, and coniferous forests.
Black Vulture
Native to southeastern North America through Mexico extending down into South America. Habitat includes open country. More abundant near the coast.
Cougar
Native to northern British Columbia to Argentina. Habitat includes forests, mountains, prairies, deserts, and swamps.
Great Horned Owl
Native to North America and South America. Habitat includes deciduous, coniferous, and mixed forests, tropical rainforests, prairie, mountainous areas, deserts, tundra, rocky coasts, mangrove swamps, and some urban areas.
