Field Trips

Bring your class to the Zoo and embark on the wildest field trip in town! See, hear, and smell some of the world’s most treasured and unique wildlife without even leaving Chattanooga! For a more in-depth experience and a chance to experience a WILD encounter, you can add an educational program to your visit, too.

Field Trip Reservations

Qualifications

• You must be an accredited public or private school, Head Start program, pre-school or organized homeschool group.
• You must have 10 or more students age 3+ to qualify for school group rates, which are only available during the school year.

Book Education Programs For Your Group

• Add an education program for your group! For an additional $3 per student, you can meet a Zoo educator and some of our talented ambassador animals. Please see the program guide below for topics. (Please note - our Day in the Life of a Vet Tech program is $5 per student due to the high level of hands-on activities, engagement with instructors, and the necessary supplies.)
• Education programs are offered every hour between 9:30 and 2:30. They last approximately 30 minutes and have a capacity of 60. Groups with more that 60 students can split into multiple program times.
• Due to the space, we invite teachers and school staff to join the program but not additional adults.

At Chattanooga Zoo, we are dedicated to creating the most robust educational experience possible for students. We've created pre-field trip activities and post-visit review guides to enhance the learning process for all students who visit the Zoo.
